Ford International Airport is proud to collaborate and build deep-rooted connections with the community. Please share with us a little bit about you and your company:

Turner is a North American-based, international construction services company and a leading builder in diverse market segments. The company has earned recognition for undertaking large and complex projects, fostering innovation, embracing emerging technologies, and making a difference for its clients, employees, and community. With over 11,000 employees, the company completes $17 billion of construction on 1,500 projects each year. Turner, headquartered in New York, has maintained a local office in Michigan for the past 50 years.

How many people work at your company?

Turner has over 12,000 employees.

How is your company supporting the ConRAC project?

Turner is providing Construction Management Services, including Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers and Safety Director to the ConRAC project.

What are some of the specialized skills that you and your team has enjoyed bringing to this project?

Turner has an advanced, robust safety culture that has been implemented for the project. As a company it is both exciting and rewarding to see these innovative practices embraced and implemented as company policy by the Trade Partners.

Lean principles have also been a strong focus of the project Team and accepted, embraced by the Trade Partners. Pre-planning, continuous improvement and look-ahead planning has been greatly beneficial to the project by flushing out constraints and mitigating negative impacts to the project.

What’s your favorite part of working on a project at the Airport?

The ConRAC project has been an exciting and in some aspects a challenging project. Through a strong commitment from the Airport, Coalition Companies, Fishbeck and the Trade Partners the Team has worked extremely well together with a focus on Building Excellence. The Team has been able to build a strong culture with a focus on continuous improvement in safety, quality and enhancing worker experience.

What is a fun fact about your company?

Turner has successfully completed over 1200 aviation projects at every major airport in the continental United States and manages more than 30 aviation projects annually.
