Taking West Michigan to new heights involves many hands at work, including local contractors. The Gerald R. Ford International Airport is proud to collaborate and build deep-rooted connections with the community. We've interviewed several of these local businesses to hear their fun facts, statistics, and favorite parts of working at the Airport. A special thanks to Windemuller Electric.
The capital expansion program, Elevate, includes an expanded concourse, a new control tower, more parking, enhanced rental car capabilities and improved baggage inspection technology. To learn more about our partners and the economic impact, visit https://flyford.org/elevate/community/.

Windemuller began the project by removing existing light poles, electrical connections to a bus waiting shelter, various parking gates and communication cabling for emergency phones and cameras at the future ConRAC building site. Additionally, we have installed a new duct bank across Gateway Dr. and will be reinstalling ten light poles along Gateway Drive.
We’ve grown since first established in 1954 as an electrical contractor and have since expanded into automation, communications and IT, construction, electrical services, outdoor utilities, and renewable energy.
It’s fun to recognize that our work on this project will be seen by countless travelers from all over the world.
