GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., September, 2025 – The Gerald R. Ford International Airport has been named a readers' choice finalist for Best Small Airport by USA TODAY.

The public is invited to cast their votes at https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/best-small-airport/. The voting period will be open from Monday, Sept. 7 at 12:00 p.m. until Monday, Oct. 5 at 11:59 a.m. The annual awards highlight outstanding attractions and businesses across the country, providing readers with trusted recommendations.

As one of the fastest-growing airports in the Midwest, Ford International Airport continues to invest in critical infrastructure through its ELEVATE capital development program. Over the past year, the Airport reached several major milestones that are transforming the guest experience and preparing for future growth:

• Opening the $135 million Terminal Enhancement Project, which introduced a reimagined ticketing experience, advanced baggage handling technology and improved efficiency for passengers.
• Completing Michigan's first Consolidated Rental Car Facility (CONRAC), a $156 million investment that brings all rental car operations under one roof, enhances sustainability, and increases overall airport capacity.
• Advancing the Federal Inspection Station and air traffic control tower relocation, critical projects that will support future growth and expanded connectivity.
• Enhancing the guest experience with additional concessions and VIP Lounge.
• Additional investments in parking and terminal infrastructure designed to support increasing passenger demand and strengthen the region's transportation network.
