On May 13th, the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority will undergo a Full-Scale Exercise, designed to simulate an emergency event to evaluate emergency response protocols.

The Airport Authority expects a large presence of first responders and emergency vehicles around the area during this time. No impacts to airport operations.

Ford Airport Sets New Passenger Record: 2,275,332 served in 2011

Gerald R. Ford International Airport achieved a new passenger record in 2011 with 2,275,332 customers served, a 4.1% increase over 2010. The 2011 total surpasses the previous record of 2,185,924 passengers, set in 2010.

Cargo volume at the Airport also continues to climb. A total of 80,706,216 pounds of air freight were handled in 2011, representing a 1.3% increase over the previous year.
