Grand Rapids, Michigan, May 2, 2022– The Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority has added Maria Kim to its senior leadership team as chief financial officer.
Kim brings a background in aeronautical revenue along with 10 years of experience in strategic planning, data analysis and financial forecasting and modeling to her new role. As CFO, she will provide leadership, oversight and strategic direction for the finance, procurement, technology and risk management departments.
She will also be responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of the airport authority and compliance with all accounting and financial reporting standards.

We are thrilled to welcome Maria to the authority’s senior leadership team.”
Kim joins the Ford International Airport from Fraport USA where she served as the director of financial analysis and reporting where she was responsible for budgeting, forecasting and business development, among other duties. Prior to that, she served as director of revenue and operations for Fraport, where she managed the concessions portfolio at Nashville International Airport, working to optimize revenues and boost customer satisfaction.
Before beginning at Fraport, Kim entered the aeronautical industry as the manager of revenue development at Allegheny County Airport Authority in Pittsburgh. In this role, she was key to revenue strategy development and operations for a $1.3 billion upgrade to the main terminal, which included a new concourse. She actively planned to maximize revenues in parking, concessions, rental cars and other initiatives.
Kim began her career with The Kraft Heinz Co., where she held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility in its branding, marketing and finance.
Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in extension studies in Business Management from Harvard University. She also has certificates in international business and corporate sustainability and innovation.
