Gerald R. Ford International Airport Adds Charging Stations

Grand Rapids, Mich. – Passengers flying in and out of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport can now get an extra jolt of energy – for their electronic devices, that is.

GFIA is adding 46 charging stations throughout the concourses. The charging stations are 62” tall and each includes six 120-volt outlets and two USB connections. The stations are inbetween gate area seating, giving passengers a free service to charge cell phones, laptops and other electronic devices. The charging stations have already been installed in Concourse “A.” Concourse “B” is scheduled to finish installation by the end of the week.

“We are constantly looking for ways we can make our airport more passenger-friendly,” said GFIA Executive Director Brian Ryks. “Our new charging stations will give both business and leisure travelers the ability to stay plugged-in and entertained while traveling in and out of our airport.”
