Kent County Commissioner Dan Burrill Appointed to Ford International Airport Authority Board of Directors

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., March 17, 2023 – Kent County Commissioner Dan Burrill has joined the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority board of directors.

Burrill will serve a three-year term on the seven-member board, which is appointed by the Kent County Board of Commissioners and responsible for general oversight of the Airport.

“We are pleased to have Dan join our board,” Ford International Airport Authority Board Chair Dan Koorndyk said. “With his background in economic and community development, we look forward to his insight as the Airport invests more than $500 million in infrastructure improvement projects through its capital expansion program, Elevate.”

As commissioner, real estate broker and small business owner, Burrill brings more than three decades of experience in business management, community development, public policy, budgeting, planning and related fields.

“I am looking forward to serving on the Ford International Airport Authority board,” Burrill said. “Ford International Airport is integral to the growth of the West Michigan economy, and I look forward to supporting its efforts to fuel our vibrant and thriving community.”

Serving the community for over 19 years, Burrill has also served on the Grandville Public School board, Wyoming City Council, the Department of Public Works board and The Grand Rapids Public Museum board.

Burrill is a graduate of Aquinas College, where he studied business administration. He lives in Wyoming with his wife, Leesa. He has two sons, one a student at Grand Valley State University, the other a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps.
