Ford Airport Releases 2020 Flight Plan

Ford Airport Releases 2020 Flight Plan

The Gerald R. Ford International Airport has released its 2020 Flight Plan, its newly revamped report to the community.

The 18-page report, themed “A Clear Path Forward,” begins with a joint letter for President and CEO Torrance A. Richardson and Board Chair Dan Koorndyk, highlighting accomplishments from 2020 and a preview of initiatives for 2021. The report:

  • Spotlights the Ford Airport’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic through its Fly Safe. Fly Ford. campaign, including its testing of robotic cleaning equipment.
  • Highlights the Airport’s part in battling the global pandemic through its early role in managing PPE shipments and its December work distributing the first domestic COVID-19 vaccines.
  • Recaps the start and completion of capital expansion projects, including the groundbreaking for the new federal inspection station and the successful conclusion of Gateway Expansion Phase 2.
  • Underscores the Airport’s commitment to engaging with the community through the installation of new art, including the dedication of a statue and plaza in honor of President Gerald R. Ford, along with investments in the guest experience.

New this year is an engaging online edition of the report that mimics the flight experience while enabling readers to view the complete report.

The report will be available in an upcoming edition of the Grand Rapids Business Journal and advertisements linking to the digital report will be in the Holland Sentinel, La Voz, The Grand Rapids Times and the Grand Haven Tribune. A PDF of the printed version of the report is also available online.

The report was prepared by the Ford Airport commercial development team with writing, photography, concept, design and printing support from Extra Credit Projects and Sabo PR.
