GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., January 19, 2023 – The Gerald R. Ford International Airport, in partnership with Hudson, started construction on Ink by Hudson, a new wine bar and contemporary bookstore. Ink by Hudson will offer travelers a taste of local Michigan wines, shelves of diverse stories, travel essentials and gifts.
“Ink by Hudson will be a unique spot for passengers to sit back and enjoy their travel experience,” said Tory Richardson, president and CEO for the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority. “As our passenger numbers continue to grow, we are excited to welcome them with a book and a glass of wine, along with a distinctive assortment of gifts and travel necessities.”
Hudson operates over 1,000 stores in airports, commuter hubs, landmarks and tourist locations across North America. Ink by Hudson is a popular stop for travelers, featuring a curated collection of bestsellers, small press titles, classics, prizewinners, local favorites, and a unique selection of toys, stationery, gifts, travel essentials and indulgences. The new retail offering will be located after the security screening checkpoint just before Concourse B and is set to open in spring 2023.
Included in the new store is a self-serve wine bar in partnership with Michigan Wine Collaborative, offering several wine selections for guests to choose from and pour themselves. Michigan Wine Collaborative is a nonprofit organization that aims to enhance the sustainability and profitability of the Michigan wine industry by supporting wineries, growers, and other businesses and individuals connected to the industry.
Ford International Airport continues to offer a variety of restaurants, shops and amenities, including Founders, The Great American Bagel, Starbucks and more. Additional concessions will open after the completion of the newly expanded Concourse A in 2024.
