Ford International Airport Welcomes Heather Day as Human Resources Director

Grand Rapids, Michigan, September 29, 2022 – The Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority
recently welcomed Heather Day as its new human resources director to help plan, design and develop
employee-related initiatives that support the Airport’s strategic goals.

In her new role, Day will lead performance management and oversee compensation, benefits and employee training. Additionally, Day will direct labor relations and provide consultation to management on strategic staffing plans. Day’s leadership role will focus on creating a positive work environment and a culture that enables employees to perform at peak levels.

“We are thrilled to have Heather join our team,” Ford International Airport Authority president and CEO Tory Richardson said. “Her impressive background in human resources, especially in the aviation industry, will develop and grow our dynamic team, which will consequently provide guests with an exceptional travel experience.”

Day previously served as the director of human resources, benefits and compensation at the Wayne County Airport Authority, where she directed benefit programs, oversaw payroll, assisted in supervising post-employment retirement benefits and spearheaded all human resources initiatives.

“I am honored to join the Ford International Airport at a time of tremendous growth,” Day said. “I look forward to working with our team, while sharing my knowledge and skills to reach our strategic goals.”

Day holds a master’s degree in human resources from Villanova University and is professionally affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management, American Payroll Association and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
