STATEMENT REGARDING RETIREMENT OF GERALD R. FORD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AUGUST 16, 2011

The Kent County Aeronautics Board expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude in announcing the retirement of James Koslosky, executive director of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport, effective January 1, 2012. Jim will retire from his position following a successful 43-year career in the airport industry.

The board is extremely grateful for Jim’s 21 years of remarkable leadership and outstanding service to the airport, as well as for his foresight and many accomplishments. Under his direction, the airport has grown from 1.4 million annual passengers to nearly 2.2 million throughout the past two decades. He has also managed several multi-million dollar capital improvement projects, including renovations to the entire terminal area and the addition of a four-story, 4,700-space parking ramp.

Jim will continue in his current role and will assist the board during the transition period. The Aeronautics Board will meet in the coming weeks to determine a recruitment plan for the executive director’s position. We will provide more information as details on the executive search become available.

We thank Jim for his service and commitment to Kent County and the airport, and wish him and his family the best in his well-deserved retirement.
